The basic editing process hasn't really changed much since I started dabbling with Vegas around v6/v7. Aside from possibly better colour grading and correction, there's really nothing I feel that compels me to upgrade. I still hang onto v14 Platinum Edition which I got on sale on Steam a few years ago. You can certainly edit a video on either of those without a steep learning curve - they operate in a very similar way to Vegas. Resolve is more advanced than Vegas, Kdenlive is on a par with it. Maybe if you can't afford something, you should find alternatives. I appreciate you're trying to perhaps do the 'right thing' by paying for your software, but that doesn't have anything to do with being a Christian. I don't know why you mention being a Christian. You can get Vegas 18 from Steam for a quarter of what that dodgy site is charging for 14: I've used it myself and it's good software. It's far above those simple open source things like OpenShot or ShotCut. Give it a go: Īs for free and open source software, there is some that is good and available on Windows. It's professional editing software and, although there is a paid-for version, that only adds a couple of high-end features you won't need. Magix put 14 into a Humble Bundle some years ago, where you could have had it for about 20 bucks. With so few options to get an old version of Vegas now, you're going to struggle to find anyone selling real keys for it and they're likely over-priced anyway.

The only way you're going to find it is through resellers like the one you've listed - and there's a high chance it's a scam and they're 'selling' a pirate copy.

Magix doesn't sell Vegas 14 any more and hasn't for a long time.
